Cookie Policy

Last updated: August 8, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies ProofPilot uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. We keep this simple on purpose: ProofPilot uses cookies to keep you signed in and to keep the Service secure — nothing more.

Essential cookies

When you sign in to ProofPilot, we set a secure, encrypted session cookie through Auth.js (our authentication layer) so you stay logged in as you navigate the dashboard. This cookie is strictly necessary for the Service to function — without it, you would have to log in again on every page. We may also set a short-lived cookie to protect state-changing requests (like form submissions) against cross-site request forgery. These essential cookies cannot be turned off without breaking the ability to log in, and we do not offer a cookie consent banner for them because no consent is required for strictly necessary cookies under applicable law.

No third-party advertising or tracking cookies

ProofPilot does not use third-party advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or social media tracking scripts on our dashboard or on the proof pages and widgets you publish. We don't sell data to ad networks, and we don't build advertising profiles of you, your customers, or the visitors to your proof pages.

How we measure usage

To help you understand how your proof pages and widgets perform (for example, view counts on a proof wall), we record analytics events — such as a page view or a widget impression — directly on our servers when a page loads, rather than through a persistent tracking cookie stored in the visitor's browser. This lets us show you aggregate view counts without placing tracking cookies on the people viewing your proof pages.

Controlling cookies in your browser

Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies through their settings. Because our session cookie is essential, blocking or deleting it will sign you out of ProofPilot and require you to log in again. You can typically manage cookies from your browser's settings menu:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Changes to this policy

If the cookies we use change materially — for example, if we introduce optional analytics cookies in the future — we will update this policy and, where required by law, ask for your consent first.
